Bobby Caldwell's sophomore album, recorded at Criteria Recording Studios in Miami and self-produced, blends soul, jazz and AOR sophistication as a follow-up to his platinum debut and its hit 'What You Won't Do for Love.' It sold modestly by comparison, peaking at only #46 on Billboard's Top Black Albums chart and missing the Billboard 200 entirely, hampered in part by label TK Records' financial troubles ahead of its 1981 bankruptcy. Despite underperforming commercially at release, the deep cut 'Open Your Eyes' has since become a favorite among crate-diggers and has been widely sampled in hip-hop.
